What is the best Samsung tablet to buy in 2023?

What is the best Samsung tablet to buy in 2023?

The Brazilian tablet market tends to suffer from a chronic problem for most manufacturers: performance is often much lower than expected, leaving the experience and usability of these devices below expectations.

Samsung, on the other hand, tends to be one of the points outside the curve, offering products of excellent quality and applicability, in addition to the performance being one of the best on the market and the interface that actually takes advantage of the larger screen to deliver a differentiated user experience. I tested some of the main models of the South Korean giant and I list the best among them.

With specific categories, it will be possible to analyze which is the best device for you and which fits best in your activities. Check it out in our review.

How we made the selection

The choice of tablets on the list was made taking into account all Samsung products currently available on the market. Chipset, storage space, RAM memory and other characteristics were analyzed for the choice of each of the models in the category.

We tested some of these devices, evaluating the performance and performance delivered by each one of them. At the end of each category, the average prices of these products will be placed, as well as links to offers.

best samsung tablet

Galaxy Tab S8 Plus

Currently, Samsung’s flagship line of tablets has three models, all of which are equipped with the same chipset. In this way, the most attractive model is the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, which is the “intermediate” of the series.

It relies on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform and has a combination of 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. The South Korean still launched an edition with 128 GB, but this is not officially sold in Brazil.

This combination is more than enough to run almost any task or application without any difficulty. Overall, the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus has a very fluid navigation, whether for work, study or just having fun.

For photographs, the tablet has a pair of rear cameras, a main 13 MP aided by a 6 MP ultrawide. As for selfies – or to participate in video calls – it has a 12 MP sensor. It’s a pretty respectable set for this type of device.

The screen is of great quality and, while many Samsung tablets have LCD displays, the S8 Plus arrives with a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

These settings allow a great contrast to watch movies and series with great comfort or simply to have more vivid images with intense colors.

Finally, it has a 10,090 mAh battery, which guarantees good autonomy and hours of day-to-day use, excellent for anyone looking for a tablet to use both at home and at work.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Plus price range ranges from R$8,000 to R$9,000.

Best Samsung tablet for studying

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

If your focus is to buy a tablet to study, the best choice is the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The model has two versions – one launched in 2020 and the other in 2022 – and both are still in Samsung’s official portfolio in Brazil.

The 2022 model is the most interesting. It has 128 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. Allied to this, it has a Snapdragon 720G chip that offers good performance for downloading apps to study or even messengers and social networks.

It has a 10.4 inches TFT LCD screen with 60 Hz refresh rate and 1200 x 2000 pixels resolution. Although more modest, these specifications are enough if you want a device for a more basic use, such as running PDFs, docs, presentations or spreadsheets.

The Tab S6 Lite has a 7,040 mAh battery. It is enough to last a day on a single charge. This, of course, depends on more moderate use. But then again, if your purpose is just studying, it will do just fine.

Finally, it is important to point out that the version released in 2020 has basically the same configuration, with the only exception that it has only 64 GB of internal storage and is equipped with the Exynos 9611 chip, which offers a slightly lower performance than the model from 2022.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite price range ranges from R$2,000 to R$3,000.

Best compact Samsung tablet

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

And if you prefer more compact tablets, valuing portability and day-to-day practicality, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 4G is a good option among the Samsung tablets available in Brazil. Remembering that we are talking about the most basic model among the A7 launched so far. Therefore, if you prefer performance, this is not the ideal version for you.

The chipset used here is MediaTek’s Helio P22T. As it is an entry-level platform, the user can expect good performance in more basic tasks. If you intend to invest in this model to watch some YouTube videos, access e-mail, text editors and more common activities, the A7 Lite will suit you perfectly.

There are two versions of the device, one with 32 GB of storage space and 3 GB of RAM memory, and the other with 64 GB of storage space and 4 GB of RAM memory. If there is a choice, I advise you to take the second model for sure.

The cameras here are much simpler, serving for trivial records, without many expectations. It is possible to make video calls smoothly, but with average quality in terms of colors and image contrast. This also applies to photos, regardless of which sensor you use. The 8 MP at the rear and 2 MP at the front are useful, but unfortunately they don’t work miracles.

The screen is of the TFT type and is 8.7”, big enough for basic activities. It has great quality and guarantees a good visualization for the reproduced contents. Despite being more compact, the user will not have problems with a very reflective panel, for example, making this model a good option for a children’s tablet.

The battery has a reasonable duration, since its 5,100 mAh is enough for a person with a moderate use profile.

The price range for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is around R$800 to R$1,000.

Best Samsung tablet for drawing

Galaxy Tab S7 FE

And for those who want a tablet with an excellent screen size, configuration and ready to draw, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G is a great option from the manufacturer with this type of proposal. As it is a productivity-oriented device, the S pen, Samsung’s own stylus pen, is also available in the box.

The panel, despite being TFT, has excellent quality and delivers beautiful images when viewing the contents. Its size at 12.4” is large, but still guarantees portability and practicality in handling and transporting the product. The colors are vivid and quite reliable, something very important for anyone who works in this type of profession.

We have the Snapdragon 750G (5G) and 778G (Wi-Fi) as the model platform. Although both are intermediate, they are two premium chipsets in the category, almost reaching the top of the line available on the market. If you’re looking for performance, you won’t be disappointed.

One of the high points of the product is the 10,090 mAh battery, a very interesting number for those looking for and expecting autonomy for many hours of uninterrupted use. This model can be perfectly used as a main device given this characteristic. A very positive point.

The set of cameras is already more modest, considering that the 8 MP at the rear and 5 MP at the front take reasonable pictures, without major highlights. As a tablet focused on productivity, this was one of the parts that Samsung was less concerned about, but it is still possible to have good records if necessary.

Storage space and RAM are definitely not a problem. There is a version with up to 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. There’s room to store your necessary documents and apps, huh? The Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G is one of the manufacturer’s tablets launched in 2021, which focuses on productivity first. Definitely a huge hit.

You can find it from R$ 3,000, approximately.

Best Samsung tablet for gaming

Galaxy Tab S8

The Galaxy Tab S8 has settings very similar to the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus. The two tops of the line share the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and have a combination of 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage.

This configuration is great for enjoying the main games available on the Play Store, even those that are more demanding in terms of hardware, such as Free Fire, League of Legends, Asphalt 9 or Call of Duty Mobile.

These titles can run smoothly even at the highest graphical settings allowed within each app.

While the chipset and memory and storage options are the same as the S8 Plus, there are some key differences. The screen, for example, is TFT LCD and is a little smaller, with 11 inches. This, however, does not compromise or diminish the gamer experience.

The battery is also a little more modest: it’s only 8,000 mAh. Anyway, it lasts a good few hours of gameplay before needing to be recharged again.

The Galaxy Tab S8 price range is around R$ 4,000.
