New Waze function allows you to pay for fuel directly through the app

The Waze GPS and route information app has started to provide a new feature that promises to make life easier for its users. In partnership with some gas stations in the USA, the app now has the option to pay the bill at gas stations. The novelty has been in the testing phase for some time and comes to Android devices and iPhone (iOS) this Friday (14).

The feature basically works like this: when the driver approaches a gas station that is part of the Waze program, an option appears to pay directly for the app. Apparently, you will need to register your credit card on Waze or select an installed payment service, such as Google Pay – remembering that Waze belongs to Google.

Initially, the novelty will be available only at Exxon Mobil and Shell gas stations in the United States, but the expectation is that the function will also be launched in other markets. Users who use this new Waze payment option will also be able to earn rewards through participating networks' loyalty programs.

Remember that Waze is part of Google's umbrella, so it wouldn't be a big news if we see the functionality being integrated into Maps eventually.

It's in Brazil?

To FreeGameGuide, the Waze staff informed that the resource has not yet been launched in Brazil.
