GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games today, with a release planned for 2025. One of the things that players have always asked for in the series is the possibility of exploring practically all the buildings and houses you find on the map, something that seemed impossible. However, the registration of a new patent may indicate that Rockstar Games is planning exactly that for the title.
According to Reddit user NoDevelopment894, a registered patent indicates a technology that uses artificial intelligence to randomly generate furniture and decorations for indoor spaces, allowing the exploration of more environments.
Improved interiors and reactions
In the patents registered by Take Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, there is information about the creation of rooms and entire buildings that can fit into predetermined categories. An example of this would be the creation of components that form a luxury apartment or an old, poorly maintained house.
While the structure of these buildings would be similar, the items inside them could be generated by AI and evolve over time. Another element that would be improved with this technology would be the reactions of NPCs found on the map.
Instead of everyone always acting the same way, they would react better to external elements, such as weather, noise and actions around them, without always needing to follow a predetermined sequence of actions. This would make the inhabitants of Vice City appear more “alive” than before.

Of course, this is just a patent registered by the company and its application in the game depends on several factors, but the idea of more explorable spaces and NPCs that react in a more natural way is very interesting.
For now, GTA 6 is scheduled for release in 2025, for Xbox Series S and X and PS5.
