Game releases for December 2023

After a very busy October and November in the world of games, the electronic games industry slowed down in the last month of 2023. Proving that December is really the Friday of the year, we have a very warm month. Despite bringing some interesting titles, it is undeniable that all the big releases of the year have already happened, regardless of the platform you have to play on.

The biggest highlight of the month is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft that takes place within the universe of the films created by James Cameron. More than being a Far Cry blue, the game focuses heavily on exploration and the iconic look of the planet Pandora to impress players whether on PS5, Xbox Series S/X or PC.

Another licensed novelty that appears in December is the trilogy Batman Arkham. The collection brings together games that have been released since the days of the PS3 and Xbox 360 and puts Batman’s entire journey in one place on the Nintendo Switch. Another re-release is the classic trash Plumbers Don’t Wear Tiesan FMV game, using videos with actors and embarrassing choices, now on several platforms — also proving how scarce things are in this final stretch of the year.

Check out the biggest highlights of December 2023.

Batman Arkham Trilogy

Batman Arkham Trilogy brings together the three games in the Arkham series produced by Rocksteady, which are Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City e Batman: Arkham Knight. The series of games shows Batman trying to prevent villains from escaping from the famous psychiatric hospital, then finding himself in a Gotham City that was made into a prison and, finally, a city once and for all taken over by crime. In other words, just a sequence of normal days for the vigilante.

The games are considered to this day as one of the best adaptations of the character for any interactive media, arriving on Nintendo consoles with a special package, with all the DLCs. Whether for those who have never watched the games over the past decade or just for those who want to revisit Arkham Asylum and this chaotic Gotham City, this is a great choice for comic book fans.

Batman Arkham Trilogy was released on December 1st for Nintendo Switch.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person shooter set on the Western Frontier of the planet Pandora, where the action of the franchise takes place. A human military corporation captured and trained a Na’vi to work for them. Only, fifteen years later, you are free and lost in your homeland that you barely know.

Now, you must find yourself back as a native, discovering what it means to be a Na’vi and how to protect your clan from the same corporation that once trained you. The game features elements shown in the films, such as the possibility of having your own banshee and flying through the skies, mastering different combat styles, as well as being able to play the game with a friend in a fully cooperative team.

The big highlight is the fact that it is an open world game, which means you can explore Pandora your way. Ubisoft placed a lot of emphasis on this feature, bringing several tools to help you get to know every corner of this impressive ecosystem.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released on December 7th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties: Definitive Edition

Originally released in 1993 for PC and 3DO, Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties is an adult game about a man and a woman who are pressured by their parents to find a wife and husband. The player must, somehow, make the two meet and end up falling in love.

At the time of its release, the game was massacred by critics and players, since, despite being FMV, which uses videos to show the action, the game is almost a slide sequence of shameful situations and embarrassing dialogues.

However, over time, the title became cult, even though it was one of the worst games ever made. Now, you can have this gem through a re-release for new platforms.

Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties: Definitive Edition will be released on December 8th for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

House Flipper 2

Sequel to the 2018 game, House Flipper 2 again brings the relaxing gameplay in which you need to renovate houses, whether to meet customer renovation requests, or restructuring the entire place to be able to sell it at auctions. Basically, it is an interactive version of the painting Lar Doce Lar, by Caldeirão do Huck.

With considerable graphical advances compared to the previous title, House Flipper 2 it also features Sandbox mode, in which instead of destroying houses, you can create new houses from scratch. This way, you can put your creativity into practice and still earn money within the game.
