Galaxy Book 3 Ultra may have cheaper version with Core i7 and RTX 4050

Galaxy Book 3 Ultra arrives in February and may be lighter than MacBook Pro

Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy Book 3 line, and the Ultra version is among the main novelties for this year. Details about this variant were revealed by leaker SnoopyTech (@_snoopytech_ on Twitter), in aspects such as screen, performance and more.

  • Galaxy S23 Ultra should have a breakthrough in GPU and night photos
  • Meet Windows Mini: Microsoft’s Mac Mini with ARM

It was said that the notebook will have two different versions, in which the most advanced will have an Intel Core i9-13900H processor. It should also bring 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage and an 8 GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 card, in a laptop version. This is in line with previous rumors, reinforcing that Samsung will bet on a very powerful model to compete with the new MacBook Pro with M2 Max.

The other alternative may come with Intel Core i7-13700H, along with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage. In this case, the GPU must be the RTX 4050 in laptop version, with 6 GB of dedicated memory. If the information is confirmed, we will have a base model for the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra still capable of delivering great graphics performance, which is a relief for those who cannot or want to pay more for the more robust option.

Galaxy Book 3 Ultra should win 120 Hz screen

The two variants should have some specifications in common, including the display. They can bring 16-inch panels, with AMOLED technology and WQXGA+ resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels.

New for these screens is support for refresh rates at 120 Hz, as the Galaxy Book 2 line is limited to 60 Hz. In addition, displays must have anti-glare coating.

The dimensions of the notebook can stand at 35.54 x 22.58 x 1.32 cm, with a weight of 1.17 kg. That means it should be slightly smaller, thinner and lighter than the 16-inch MacBook Pro, its potential competitor.

According to previous rumors, the product will feature three USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI and one SD card slot. Its construction will house a four-speaker system designed by AKG with support for Dolby Atmos, as well as a 76 WHr battery with 136 W recharges.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will come with Windows 11 Home installed from the factory. At first, it will only be offered in the Graphite color.

The Galaxy Book 3 line should be revealed at the Galaxy Unpacked event, already scheduled for February 1st. In addition to the Ultra model, a standard version and a Pro model are expected, in addition to the Book 360 variant.
