The Galaxy A71 and Galaxy Tab A8 started receiving the One UI 5 update, a modified version of Android 13 by Samsung, in Brazil. The updated version of Google’s operating system is coming via notification to owners of both devices.
- Android 13 may have Material You themed icons for all apps
- Samsung launches Good Lock app for Android customization in Brazil
One UI 5 is over 2 GB in size and features the December 2022 Android security patch. There are three firmware versions compatible with the Galaxy A71 models sold here, all unrelated to carriers. The associated devices will need to wait a few more days, as the release is made by the respective operator.
The OS should bring the main innovations introduced by Android 13 to Samsung’s cell phone, such as the new Material You themed icons, renewed transition animations, background blurring effects and general interface novelties. Some Samsung-exclusive improvements should also be added, such as displaying app names in the Edge panel.
It is worth remembering that the Galaxy A71 has been launched for more than three years, considered one of Samsung’s most popular mid-range models around here. Even with so much ground already covered, the model is still compatible with updates, according to the South Korean company’s extended support policy.
How to download One UI 5 on Galaxy A71?
If the alert has not arrived on your cell phone, you can scan Samsung’s servers to check. To do so, follow the steps below:
Make sure you are connected to a high-speed Wi-Fi network to optimize data transfer. It is also recommended to check the battery level before starting the update, as you need to have enough power to update to Android 13.
On Monday (16), the Galaxy A52, M13 and Tab S8 devices received the update to One UI 5. The compilation introduces a number of important new features, such as a customizable lock screen, widget grouping, Routines and automated functions, better synchronization and pairing with Windows.
Samsung is in the process of finalizing the stable version of One UI 5.1. According to an update note for the Galaxy Watch 5, the operating system update could arrive in early February 2023, but still without a set date. It is likely that the top of the line will be contemplated initially, as the intermediate models are still migrating to One UI 5.
