Since its launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has already turned out to be a game full of Easter eggs from games like Dark Souls e The Witcher even films like Akira e Blade Runner. And, two years after its release, players continue to find new references hidden in the title — more specifically a very obscure joke from GTA: San Andreas.

The novelty was located in the expansion Phantom Liberty, launched in September this year and which greatly improved the overall experience of the CD Projekt RED game. And, at a certain point in the DLC, it is possible to find a scribble that connects directly to a dialogue in the Rockstar game.

The easter egg is hidden at the beginning of the campaign Phantom Liberty, when the player needs to use a pay phone to continue a mission. It’s a point that everyone needs to go through, but only the most attentive eyes noticed that there are some inscriptions on the device and they are the ones that connect to GTA: San Andreas. Are they:

  • 2 x 9
  • 1 x 9 L
  • 1 x 6
  • 1 x 7
  • 2 x 45

And what does that mean? Inside of Cyberpunk 2077, absolutely nothing. But fans of GTA recognized the pattern of numbers with a pass of San Andreas in which CJ and his friends go to the Cluckin’ Bell fast-food chain and we see Big Smoke order “two 9 combos, one large 9 combo, one with 6 with extra sauce, one 7 combo, two 45 combos — one with cheese , and a large soda.”

It’s basically the same pattern of numbers that appears in Phantom Liberty, showing that the CD Projekt team decided to pay homage to the Rockstar title once again. Remembering that there are other references to the title in the futuristic RPG, such as mention of the characters “JC” and “Little Smoke”.
