Paradox Interactive revealed that the game Cities: Skylines 2, which will be released on October 24th, did not reach the performance target that the team would like, but that it will still maintain the launch on the scheduled date as it will be the best action to be taken at the time.
With information from the official forum, the post highlights that “although our team worked tirelessly to offer the best experience possible, we did not reach the benchmark we had set out to achieve.” This is one of the reasons why, in previous updates, the minimum requirements to run were increased and the launch for consoles was postponed to 2024.
“Given this, we still believe that, in the long term, launching the project is the best way to move forward. We’re proud of the unique gameplay and features in Cities: Skylines II, and we sincerely believe it offers a great experience that you’ll enjoy. We will continue to improve the game over the coming months, but we also want to manage expectations regarding performance at launch. Our ambition is for Cities: Skylines II to be enjoyed by as many players as possible, and we are committed to ensuring it reaches its full potential“ – says the Paradox team.
Cities: Skylines 2 will be released on October 24th for PC on the Steam and Microsoft Store platforms, in addition to arriving on Xbox Game Pass. The launch for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles will only be in the spring of 2024 in the northern hemisphere — between the months of March and June.
