Acer Predator Triton 300 SE with RTX 3060 starts to be manufactured in Brazil

Acer announced this Monday (23) that it began manufacturing the Acer Predator Triton 300 SE 2022 in Brazil, the latest model of the giant’s premium intermediate gamer laptop. The device combines average notebook specifications in the category, such as an RTX 3060 GPU, with some more advanced features, including metal construction, 240 Hz screen, liquid metal cooling and fingerprint reader.

  • Nvidia RTX 4090 for notebooks outperforms RTX 3080 Ti by up to 2.7x in test

A member of Acer’s most premium line, the Triton 300 SE 2022 becomes the company’s most affordable model in Brazil to feature a 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processor. The device comes equipped with a Core i7 12700H, with 14 cores and 20 threads (6 high-performance P-Cores + 8 high-efficiency E-Cores) running at up to 4.7 GHz, accompanied by 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and 512 GB of M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, with both offering expandability.

Graphics processing is handled by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, configured with a consumption of 80 W — it is important to note that this is not the most robust version of the GPU, which can reach 140 W. To keep the set at good temperatures, the company uses AeroBlade 3D fans with 89 blades each, and applies liquid metal over the CPU and GPU to speed up heat transfer to the heatsink.

At 16 inches and with a higher aspect ratio of 16:10 (instead of the more common 16:9), the IPS LCD screen is one of the highlights, featuring a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Acer promises accurate colors thanks to 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, as well as intense contrast for an IPS display, 1200:1, but the response time is slow compared to other more advanced panels, with 9 ms — higher screens reach 1ms.

The keyboard features ABNT2 standard and 3 RGB backlighting zones, configurable through the Acer Predator Sense program, where the user can also make adjustments in performance modes and other functions. The battery is huge, with 99 Wh capacity, and promises up to 7 hours of autonomy, accompanied by a 230 W source.

Connectivity has received attention and includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10 Gbps) — with one of them providing power for peripherals and other devices — Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps), RJ45 for wired internet , P2 connector for headphones and microphone, and HDMI 2.1. Closing the package is the digital reader built into the trackpad, the Full HD webcam, the stereo sound system with DTS:X Ultra optimizations and Windows 11 Home as standard.
