7 Brazilian games to keep an eye on in 2024

The production of national games has always been very strong, but it has grown a lot in the last 10 years, delivering quality games of the most varied genres and for all the main platforms. The 2024 season will be no different and is full of games “made in Brazil” ready to hit the streets and fans.

The year has racing, adventure, RPG, card and shooting releases, once again showing the quality of Brazilian studios and developers in the games market. We’ve selected some titles that you should keep an eye on in the coming months.

7. Top Racer Collection

Racing game fans who grew up in the 1990s certainly spent hours in front of a TV playing Top Gear. With a wonderful soundtrack and really fun gameplay, the franchise marked an entire generation and can now gain more fans with Top Racer Collection.

You might be surprised by the name, but Top Racer is the original name of the series in Japan and gives its name to the new collection. Produced by QUByte Interactive, the launch brings Top Racer, Top Racer 2, Top Racer 3000 and the big news, Top Racer Crossroadsa brand new game that brings new cars and special content.

Top Racer Collection will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.

6. Mark of the Deep

Mark of the Deep is a game created by Mad Mimic Interactiva, the same as Dandy Aceand mixes styles like medroidvania and souslike, a combination that can make many players break out in a cold sweat, but which looks really cool in the new game.

Players take on the role of a pirate named Marcus “Rookie” Ramsey, fighting enemies on an island overrun by corruption, trying to find the rest of his crew. The story still has mystical tones, involving sea creatures and the island’s native inhabitants.

Something very interesting related to the game’s gameplay is that it is very reminiscent of titles like Hades.

Mark of the Deep will be released in 2024 for PC and consoles.

5. Wardens Rising

Wardens Rising is an isometric shooter created by developer Big Moxi Games. In it, you control characters called Wardens, facing gigantic enemies who seek to invade your kingdom. With a skill evolution system, you can build different builds for your character, as well as equipment that will help you in combat.

The Wardens and the setting itself have a more cartoonish look, stylized in a similar way to games like Dauntless e Fortnite, but with more frenetic action. Another advantage is the possibility of joining three friends and forming teams to fight against enemies.

Wardens Rising will be released for PC, Xbox Series S/X and PS5.

4. RoadOut

RoadOut is a very stylish action and adventure game, which also mixes elements of dungeon exploration and racing. In a post-apocalyptic world you control Claire, a memoryless mercenary who performs delivery, sabotage and assassination services. She tries to discover details about her past, especially after finding links between her existence and the origin of an artificial intelligence.

Playing the demo available for PC and checking images of the game, it is possible to notice a simplicity in its gameplay, even though it is so varied, mixing shooting, running and dungeon exploration, but everything seems to work very well.

RoadOut has a confirmed release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch and PC.

3. Deathbound

Deathbound is an action RPG created by Trialforge Studio that revolves around the clash between science and religion. The game takes place in a world called Zieminal, devastated by religious fanaticism and unnatural science.

Your mission is to participate in a crusade against monsters that have taken over this land, proving yourself worthy of eternal salvation. Mixing hand-to-hand combat and the possibility of absorbing the energy of defeated warriors, you evolve your character, switching between different classes as you progress through the story.

Deathbound It is currently only scheduled for release on PC.

2. Cyberwar: Neon City

The cyberpunk theme continues to be on the rise in Cyberwar: Neon Citya game from Cyber ​​Monkey Studios that takes place in a futuristic world in which humans have gone to war against cybernetic monkeys.

After experiments with animals to create a technology that allows life after death created a super intelligent monkey, he rebelled against humans. Ocko, the name of this new being, created several clones and assembled an army, starting the “cyberwar” of the title.

As one of the humans, the player participates in frantic combat, shooting everywhere in stages where it is often difficult to even locate where you are. Something really cool is that these levels are created procedurally, which means they will be different each time you play, renewing the challenge and allowing you to prove your skill.

1. Ruff Ghanor

Ruff Ghanor is one of the most anticipated games of the year, based on the universe of Jovem Nerd’s books and podcasts. The game is an adaptation of the stories from the first book in the saga The Legend of Ruff Ghanor: The Goat Boywith appearances by characters from across the plot.

The card strategy game will have roguelite elements, showing how Ruff Ghanor went from a goat keeper to his transformation into a warrior filled with a thirst for revenge. Mixing combat with cards and dialogues that develop the story, the player will be able to assemble a deck of cards, being able to plan their entire combat strategy, with cards that also help guide the direction the story will follow.
